The Coordinator of Instructional Design and Support Services provides strong leadership for college-wide uses of instructional technologies, coordinates and provides for college-wide faculty training and development, and supervises instructional technologists, instructional designers, and faculty trainers to support the college’s instructional programs.
The Coordinator serves as a consultant to academic divisions and individual faculty and staff regarding the integration of technology into curricula; the development and implementation of technology-enhanced instruction; the effective and efficient design of face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses; new faculty development and training requirements; and methodologies associated with the application of various technologies to teaching and learning.
The Coordinator of Instructional Design and Support Services is a college-wide position and reports directly to the Associate Vice President for Educational Technology.

| FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: |
| |
1. Coordinates and provides training for faculty and instructional staff in the use of technology-enhanced instruction for academic courses, faculty and staff development, and college programs.
2. Collaborates with other Educational Technology staff and the Office of Information Systems for the acquisition, delivery, and use of instructional technology resources.
3. Assesses faculty and staff needs for educational technology and training.
4. Advises faculty committees regarding the exploration and use of instructional technologies and the effective and efficient integration of technology resources into teaching and research.
5. Consults with academic divisions and individual faculty to assure that the design and development of instruction and instructional applications are pedagogically and andragogically sound.
6. Advises faculty in the selection and use of effective multimedia development tools and software.
7. Provides guidance for developing face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses, assisting faculty and academic divisions with revising and updating existing courses, adapting courses from one delivery method to another, and developing new courses.
8. Monitors and researches new instructional methodologies and technologies applicable to instruction.
9. Coordinates and supervises the support and training activities of instructional technologists, other instructional designers, and faculty trainers.
10. Serves on appropriate TCC committees.
11. Performs other duties and functions as directed by the Associate Vice President for Educational Technology.

| REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: |
| |
1. Master’s degree in instructional design, instructional technology (with emphasis on design), or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
2. Skills and experience with integrating technology into teaching and learning processes.
3. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and administrators.
4. Knowledge of a wide range of pedagogical and andragogical issues relative to educational technologies.
5. Knowledge of instructional design principles, computer and online technologies, multimedia techniques and tools, and educational software applications.
6. Extensive experience designing, delivering, and managing faculty and staff training.
7. Strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational, collaborative, and communication skills.
8. Ability to communicate and interact successfully with diverse constituencies.
9. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team and to maintain cooperative and effective working relationships.
10. Ability to supervise and evaluate support staff.
