The position is responsible for the Security Department in the absence of the Director of Safety and Security and manages and oversees the operation of the TCC Security Management Center. |
| FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Security Manager is directly responsible for the coordination, service, and program management of the college’s technical security systems to include the Video Management System, the Emergency Notification System, the two-way radio communications system, Alarm Monitoring System, and collaborates with the integration of the access control system. Responsible for establishing and evaluating the performance measures for the contract security staff assigned to the Security Management Center and for the establishment of operating procedures and training standards for those personnel. Coordinates and services the operation of satellite campus security management consoles and audits and tests their functionally. Maintains an inventory of equipment in the system and coordinates with college and contracted vendors to repair and maintain components of the technical security system as issues are identified. This employee is required to be able to report to any campus to carry out their assignments and is available for duty after normal business hours as required. Employee may be required to attend in-state and out-of-state training programs and conferences.
This position has been designated an essential position. The employee filling this position may be required to report to work or otherwise fulfill the responsibilities of the position in the event of a college/campus closure due to weather or other emergency conditions. |
| REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: |

Ability to program, coordinate, and manage the complex duties related to the operation of a Security Management Center. Ability to make decisions independently and to develop, interpret and apply policies and procedures. Responsible for the operation of the Security Department in the absence of the Director of Safety and Security. Knowledge of and ability to use a variety of PC-based software including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, powerpoint, and software related to CCTV, PSIM, Alarm Monitoring, Access Control, and ENS security management systems. Ability to organize and present training programs related to areas under their responsibility. Knowledge of purchasing, budget/financial management practices and techniques. Ability to apply appropriate customer service techniques and use sound judgment to resolve customer related issues. Ability to react professionally, effectively, and calmly when dealing with serious incidents that are reported to or monitored by the Security Management Center and staff. Ability to prioritize workload, anticipate and meet deadlines, and respond to changing priorities. Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. Ability to effectively communicate, collaborate, and maintain working relationships with faculty, staff, outside businesses, and a diverse student population, both orally and in writing. Ability to work varied hours, available for emergency recall, and to work on various campuses as required. Experience managing and maintaining a Security Management Center, Alarm Monitoring Center, or Dispatch Center. Experience in coordinating the inventory of security equipment for service to include CCTV, alarms, and components of emergency notification systems. Experience managing the coordination of service and staffing contracts. Valid driver’s license. |
| PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: |

Experience working in a college safety/security or law enforcement environment. Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, Administration, or related technical field or an equivalent combination of education and/or training that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and experience. |

8:30AM – 5:00PM, to include the required ability to work varied hours, available for emergency recall, and to work on various campuses. |

Commensurate with qualifications. Position is in Pay Band five. The College offers a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package. |
