The Media Production Specialist will work directly with faculty and staff in order to storyboard, record, and render media for academic programs at Tidewater Community College. |
| FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position will work within a recording studio or on location to capture, edit and publish nonlinear media using Final Cut Pro and similar editing technologies. The incumbent will frequently collaborate with college faculty to help assess their needs for video, web, or multi-media programming. This position will also assist in providing support for college special events as required. |
| REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: |
| |
Knowledge of Windows and Mac OS and Microsoft Office. Skilled in both location and studio production techniques. Skilled in the operation of professional video editing software such as Avid, Adobe Premiere Pro, and/or Final Cut Pro. Demonstrated ability to work independently and in teams, meet deadlines, solve production problems, and effectively manage all aspects of assigned projects. Ability to communicate effectively with college faculty, staff, administrators, and the general public. Ability to lift and move equipment in excess of 30 lbs. and climb a 12 foot ladder. Industry experience. |
| PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: |
| |
Experience in producing, directing, videography, computer graphics, and computer video editing for high-quality academic media. Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and knowledge of computers and current video effects and graphics software. Knowledge of web conferencing and videoconferencing solutions. Knowledge of proper indoor and outdoor lighting techniques. Ability to use a common instrument such as a waveform monitor, vector scope, and time base corrector or computer software to adjust video color and lighting. Experience using current broadcast-quality video production equipment (such as cameras, digital editing systems, editors, lighting instruments, and sound recording equipment). Project management experience for educational media productions. Experience in audiovisual or instructional technology as it relates to media production. Ability to set priorities and manage time effectively. Previous experience in a higher education setting. Associate Degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and that provides the requisite knowledge, skills and experience. |

Commensurate with qualifications. Position is in Pay Band three. The College offers a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package. |
