TITLE:
Education Support Specialist II (Assistant Coordinator of College-Wide Student Activities)
CAMPUS: District Administration
SUMMARY:
  This position will plan and manage co-curricular activities to promote educational and cultural experiences for the TCC student body.
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  The Assistant Coordinator of College-Wide Student Activities will supervise the business and financial management of College-Wide Activities at the direction of the College-Wide Coordinator. Manages fiscal elements of events, ticket sale operations, and the business elements of the College-Wide Student Activities office. Assists with student, faculty, and staff ID system in support of college-wide student activities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  Demonstrated ability to understand the value of integrating co-curricular learning experiences, service, and leadership development as related to total student development and the ability to articulate such to a varied public. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and project a professional image with a diverse public including, students, faculty, staff, vendors, community agencies and businesses. Ability to plan and implement a wide variety of educational programs and events. Ability to coordinate the efforts of diverse population groups. Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities with flexibility. Intermediate level skill utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, databases, e-mail and the internet. Knowledge of electronic procurement systems (eVA). Knowledge of financial, administrative, and student information systems such as PeopleSoft. Skill in utilizing social media and marketing experience (Facebook, Twitter, Wordpress). Ability to create and enter data in spreadsheet files used to track budgets and event/ID information. Knowledge of office practices, procedures, equipment (fax, copier, and calculator) and filing methods. Ability to work in a multiple responsibility environment and maintain harmonious working relationships with co-workers. Ability to handle conflicts and troubleshoot problems. Ability to support all the objectives of the student activities diverse program including participation in the events. Experience working with a collegiate-level student government. Experience with fiscal and risk management processes and procedures. Experience in marketing, public relations, and community outreach.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  Experience working in higher education. Bachelor's degree in student personnel, counseling, business, marketing or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and experience. Advanced level skill in Microsoft Office Suite.
HOURS:
  8:30AM – 5:00PM.
SALARY:
  Commensurate with qualifications. Position is in Pay Band three. The College offers a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package. FUNDING STATUS: This is a full-time, restricted-funded position.
