TITLE:
Program Administrative Manager II (Child Development Lab Manager)
CAMPUS: Virginia Beach
SUMMARY:
  This position will provide leadership in the annual planning, operational management, and evaluation of the Child Development Lab at the Virginia Beach Campus.
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  The Child Development Lab (CDL) Manager will provide daily oversight of all aspects of the lab and its scheduled activities for the children participating in the preschool program. Serves as an advocate and promote the CDL as a community resource through the development and maintenance of partnerships and collaborations with community members. Collaborates with TCC early childhood development faculty to ensure students are able to conveniently access and utilize the CDL, complete their coursework, and expand their knowledge and understanding of high-quality early care and education. Ensures compliance with state licensing regulations and the standards set forth in maintaining a high quality early childhood program according to the Virginia Star Quality Initiative.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  Demonstrated ability to manage, operate and sustain a Child Development Lab. Experience with hiring, mentoring, supervising and evaluating teaching staff. Experience in managing a Child Care facility. Skilled in the use of word processing, spreadsheets, databases, PowerPoint, and other information technology applications. Familiarity with pre-school evaluation assessment and quality curriculum. Demonstrated oral and written communication and customer relation skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively deliver presentations and organize special programs and events. Ability to mentor, supervise, and evaluate student interns. Demonstrated ability to promote collaboration and teamwork in a student-centered environment. Ability to create and manage a budget. Strong planning and organizational skills to include problem solving. Experience with needs assessments and strategic planning. Energetic, professional, and knowledgeable regarding current trends and best practices in early childhood education. Experience with developing and implementing marketing plans (to include print, media and other associated means) to convey the value of programs to the community. Technology training to substantiate required skills, abilities, and knowledge. Valid driver’s license. Bachelor’s degree required in early childhood education or related field as those accepted by Virginia Star Quality Initiative (VSQI) or by National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  Knowledge of regional, state and national initiatives to include Quality Rating and Improvement Systems (QRIS). Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and experience.
HOURS:
  8:30AM – 5:00PM.
SALARY:
  Commensurate with qualifications. Position is in Pay Band five. The College offers a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package.
