This position will complete functions associated with the process related to packaging financial aid including importing electronic aid results and corrections, loading data, completing and transmitting corrections, and resolving all related issues in order to facilitate awarding. |
| FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Financial Aid Awards Specialist will perform the necessary steps to create and post student awards including building Financial Aid (FA) Terms, building budgets, assigning checklists, performing Pursuit of Program (POP) select functions, performing mass packaging, and creating/executing all queries necessary to perform steps and meet objectives. Performs duties of awarding of the Part Time Assistance Program Grant. Reviews rosters and queries to identify potential students. Reviews eligibility to determine if student meets criteria and makes awards. Performs the duties of awarding of summer grants. Reviews and creates awards based on the eligibility and student summer grant applications. Assists with functions associated with completing required verification of student information reported on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to ensure proper awards are made in a timely manner. Works with campus staff to resolve student issues to achieve a positive outcome. Performs supportive level duties to maintain office structure and continual flow of work. |
| REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: |

Knowledge of and experience in federal and state educational financial aid programs, including most recent rules and regulations issued by the U.S. Department of Education. Ability to interpret Student Aid Reports and other information to conduct needs analysis. Ability to evaluate student financial aid applications for compliance with federal rules and regulations. Knowledge of and ability to work with general accounting procedures. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a high volume deadline driven environment. Ability to problem solve, work accurately with details, and organize data and work. Ability to accurately key data into student information system and reconcile data with computer printouts. Ability to create documents using word processing software in a Windows environment. Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally. Ability to work independently and as a team to achieve team goals. Experience with data entry and database management. Experience with operation of computer, facsimile, 10-key calculator and copier machine. |

Commensurate with qualifications. Position is in Pay Band three. The College offers a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package. |
