This position will administratively support the HR functions for adjunct faculty, wage, work study, and student worker employment. |
| FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Human Resource Analyst is responsible for reviewing requests for employment and associated documents for proper completion, processes transactions in to PeopleSoft and other required HR systems. The analyst will run queries and audit data to ensure that HR data is coded correctly in HRMS prior to payroll processing deadlines. Will work closely with payroll to resolve any payroll related coding or data errors that may stop payroll from processing. Maintains and establishes electronic and paper personnel records. Generates electronic and paper reports as needed. Handles problem resolution in regard to new hire paperwork, and follow up with division or employee as needed. Processes adjunct contracts for payroll purposes. Provides the do not pay listing to payroll to ensure that adjunct faculty are paid in a timely manner. Responds to requests for verification of employment for current and former adjunct, wage, work study, and student worker employees. Responsible for new employee orientation. |
| REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: |

Knowledge of employment laws, practices and procedures. Knowledge of effective customer service and problem solving techniques. Skill with analyzing and auditing detailed electronic forms and data. Skill with PC-based software including word processing, data bases, and spreadsheets. Skill in the use of Human Resources Information Systems to include data entry, preferably PeopleSoft. Skill in scanning documents for electronic personnel files. Ability and experience to run queries from a Human Resources Information System, preferably PeopleSoft. Ability to collect, assemble, process and file information using manual and automated systems. Ability to organize work and make independent work processing decisions. Ability to read, understand, interpret and apply policy and procedure. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, orally and in writing, with diverse internal and external customers. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Knowledge of effective project management including establishing deadlines, tracking progress and effective follow up techniques. Experience in a Human Resources Office processing high volume transactions. Experience auditing data in a Human Resources Information system. Experience scanning documents for electronic personnel files. |
| PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: |
| |
Knowledge of TCC, VCCS, and DHRM policies and procedures related to Human Resources. Experience in a higher education environment. Experience in Human Resources and Payroll processing. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, Public Administration or equivalent combination of education and training, that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and experience. |
