This position will assure the loan of print and media materials from the library collections as well as provide daily ready-reference services supporting the need for academic and general information. |
| FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Circulation Specialist responds to general college inquiries and makes referrals to library and campus specialists as needed. This position will also serve as a daily backup for the Circulation Supervisor in handling time-sensitive tasks regarding overdue materials, billing, holds, and reserve materials. |
| REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: |
| |
Knowledge of standard library operations and procedures. Skill and experience with an Integrated Library System (ILS). Operational knowledge of computers, the internet, and search techniques for electronic databases. Skill in using a wide variety of equipment including computers, photocopiers, scanners, print management systems, time-out and workstation management systems related to library tasks. Ability to create and maintain print and electronic records. Ability to coordinate and master several activities at the same time (multi-tasking). Knowledge of PC functions and software, including database management, spreadsheets, and word processing. Ability to understand, interpret, and explain processes and procedures. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing with a wide variety of clientele. Ability to work in consultation with professional librarians and to work as a team member with staff. Ability to learn and use changing technologies. Experience providing quality customer service. |
| PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: |
| |
Associate degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and training that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and experience. Intermediate level knowledge of technical library operations and procedures. Experience with the Library of Congress’ classification system or ILS ALEPH software. Experience in an academic library. Hands on experience utilizing search techniques for electronic academic databases. |

Commensurate with qualifications. Position is in Pay Band three. The College offers a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package. |
