This position will provide prompt and accurate processing of all Business Office functions on the Norfolk Campus. |
| FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Cashier will provide administrative support in all aspects of operation of the Business Office, to include all revenue due and collected. |
| REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: |
| |
Ability to use computers and skilled in using various computer software to include spreadsheets, word processing, databases, and general accounting software. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Experience in cashiering functions including handling large sums of money. Knowledge of effective and accurate revenue collection techniques. Ability to review, interpret, and proof accounting information. Ability to collect revenue, reconcile bank statements, ledgers, and registers for accuracy. Ability to apply critical thinking and problem solving skills and make independent decisions while serving customers. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with office staff, students, faculty, and general public. Ability to organize work and proofread. Experience in business, industry, retail sales, or banking. |
| PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: |
| |
Experience in cashiering, bookkeeping, typing, and computers. Knowledge of PeopleSoft accounting information system. Knowledge of state regulations for revenue collections of state and local funds. Associate Degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and experience. |
| HOURS: |
| |
10:00AM – 7:00PM on Mondays and Tuesdays and 8:30AM – 5:00PM on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays; with extended hours for evenings and Saturdays during peak periods. |

Commensurate with qualifications. Position is in Pay Band three. The college offers a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package. |
