FACULTY POSITION

TITLE:
Business Administration Faculty
CAMPUS: Portsmouth
SUMMARY:
  The College anticipates filling this full-time, nine-month teaching faculty position, contingent upon availability of funding. Nine-month teaching appointments run from August 16 to May 15 with the possibility of annual renewal. This position is approved for a January 1, 2013 appointment.

While faculty positions are based at a particular campus, they may be assigned to teach at various sites, including other campuses, as well as online or via other technology delivered distance learning methodologies. Should the need be justified, faculty are subject to reassignment to another campus.
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  Teach a variety of business courses in face-to-face, hybrid and/or online formats for transfer and non-transfer degree and certificate students, including, but not limited to, management, marketing, entrepreneurship, retail operations and sales, international business, leadership and finance. Provide support for innovative curriculum, instruction, and program development. The major emphasis is on teaching, by working with students in classrooms, laboratories, individual conferences, and related activities to help the students develop their interests and abilities to the fullest capacity to become better persons, better workers, and better citizens. Faculty responsibilities also include office hours, committee work, student activities, community engagement, student advising, and professional activities. Responsibilities may include work during the day and/or evening programs of the college, as well as its distance learning programs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) with a minimum of two years of recent full-time work experience in business administration. Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with community businesses.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  Substantial middle to senior level work experience in business and/or management, marketing, international business, entrepreneurship, and other related business areas. Experience teaching at a community college or four-year institution. Knowledge of, and experience with, proven teaching strategies that promote student success. Ability to assume significant leadership responsibilities within the department. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate (oral and written communication).

Candidates should possess sufficient technology skills to work productively in an organization that utilizes significant information and instructional technology resources.
