Tidewater Community College seeks applications for three (3) utility worker positions at the Norfolk campus. These part-time positions will assist in the execution of a comprehensive maintenance program. |
| FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
|

The Utility Worker's responsibilities will include preventative maintenance work for buildings, grounds, vehicles, and mechanical systems. Provides prompt and effective completion of instructed activities that are assigned and responds properly to emergencies. |
| REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: |
| |
Basic knowledge of maintenance procedures for commercial structures. Knowledge of drywall and acoustic tile repair and procedures and surface preparation for painting. Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical repair. Ability to use basic hand tools (hammer, saw, screwdriver, wrenches) and electrical drill. Ability to operate equipment, safety, climb ladders, and carry heavy objects. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Valid driver’s license. |
| PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: |

Experience as a maintenance worker in any of the building/maintenance trades. |
| HOURS: |
| |
$11.00 per hour. This is a part-time, 30 hours per week position. |

8:00AM - 2:00PM. |
